WHAT I GOT FOR CHRISTMAS 2013

Hi Lowes!

How was your christmas celebration? Hope you all had a blast! :D

Besides the fact that Christmas itself is all about happiness and celebrations, 

I bet you all know what makes Christmas even more exciting. 

Yes, you got it right! The preseeeeeents!

I love love love opening presents from family and friends because it's just such a happy moment. Not only you got something that you love but also the fact that it's like a proof that your family and friends think and care about you :)

First of all, I got this set of hand cream and body powder from Crabtree & Evelyn in 
the scent summer hill

I haven't use these products yet but I smelled the hand cream and it has floral smell but not too overwhelming. I think I will get a good use of it.

Next is a candle! If you guys read my sweater weather tag, I told you guys that I never  burn a candle before, so I got super excited when I got this!

I already burned this candle quite a few times and it smells fresh but calming at the same time.

Then I got this ginger house cake which is really cuteee! Unfortunately the taste of it is 
not as cute as how it looks :( But I'm still super thankful for this :D

Last but certainly not least guys, I got some makeup! 

Okay I got to be honest, I bought these for my self.

But hey! I guess it's totally okay to give yourself a christmas gift! 

These have been on my wish list for the longest time and I thought.. Why not, it's Christmas time anyway, you should treat yourself :D

CHRISTMAS MAKEUP // MAKEUP IDEA & TUTORIAL

Hi Lowes!

After I posted the Outfit Ideas for Christmas, I think it's only complete if I also share my makeup idea for Christmas time. So, here it is. 

You will need eyeshadows in light green color, dark green color and gold.

1. Take the light green color (number 1) and apply it all over your lid
2. Take the dark green color (number 2) and apply it on your outer v 
3. Use the same dark green color (number 2) to line your eyes
4. Take the gold color (number 3) and put it on your inner tear duct
5. Blend all the colors and complete your look with black eyeliner and mascara.Voila! Your Green Christmas Makeup is done! :D 

p.s: 

Blend every color nicely so there is no harsh lines ;)

If you dare to use red lipstick, this look will be more vibrant and festive!

CHRISTMAS OUTFIT IDEAS

Hi Lowes!

It's that time of the year! I honestly really can't wait for CHRISTMAS to come!

Even though it's not that festive, here in Indonesia, but still! 

We can see pretty christmas decoration here and there, christmas song is played almost everywhere, and that just gets me really into the mood. 

So here are my outfit that I'm going to wear around Christmas time, hope this can be inspiring ;)

CHRISTMAS EVE

Since Christmas Eve theme is purity, silence, and peace. 

I decided to go with this white dress, which is really modest and girly. 

I paired this dress with some simple silver toned jewelry, simple white bag and strap white heels.

SWEATER WEATHER TAG

Hi Lowes!

I believe that most of you know that there's this Sweater Weather Tag going on. I first saw Jenn from Clothes Encounters did it and I thought it's a really fun tag to do! Since today was pouring and pretty cold, I think it's really suitable to do this tag :)

        
                            

1) Favorite candle scent?
Sadly, I never burn a candle in my room.. but I just stalked Bath&Body Works Website and saw the names of the candle there and I'm really attracted to this Sandalwood Vanilla candle! Looking from the name, I guess it's gonna be a cozy smell? If it's true, I'm sure it's gonna be my favorite candle scent for fall. Please tell me if you have smelled this candle! :)

2) Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate?
Hot chocolate! :) Milo to be exact. I've been addicted to it for these past two weeks!

3) What’s the best fall memory you have?
Best fall memory.. Oh! It was a my company's thanksgiving dinner :) The food was really good and it also recharged our working spirit as one whole team towards the goal.

4) Which makeup trend do you prefer: dark lips or winged eyeliner?
Winged eyeliner! I actually really like when people can rock dark vampy lips but when I tried to rock just a very light burgundy color on my lips... it's just.. I don't think it's working, so yea, hands down winged eyeliner!

5) Best fragrance for fall? 

I'm actually kind of person who rotates my fragrance on a daily basis.. But I tend to lean to this The Body Shop Japanese Musk Perfume Oil. I like it a lot because it has a really relaxing scent to me. Smells a bit like a scent that you smell when you go to a spa. I also like the fact that the scent lingers for a longer time compared to my usual perfume.  

6) Favorite Thanksgiving food?
I think I have to choose one from our Thanksgiving dinner and it has to be chicken wings! I ate like crazy that day. In fact I think I finished half of a bucket my my self, woops.

7) What is autumn weather like where you live?
Rainy, and I looooove it.

8) Most worn sweater?Turquoise sweater right from Forever 21 that you can see at the beginning of this post. It fits a little bit boxy and cropped. So it's perfect for days when the weather suddenly change and become warmer.

9) Must-have nail polish this fall?Don't use nail polish that much.. but I think dark burgundy is a gorgeous color for fall.

10) Football games or jumping in leaf piles?Jumping in leaf piles? I guess. 

11) Skinny jeans or leggings?Skinny jeans! 

12) Combat boots or Uggs?
I never own both of them but if I have to choose one, it will be combat boots all the way. I think it's way more chic and versatile than Uggs.  

13) Is pumpkin spice worth the hype?
This is actually a funny story. Since I don't have the chance to try pumpkin spice here, I have to ask my boyfriend who's studying in the states to give it a try (Yup, that's how curious I am). He said it's pretty good and he's sure I'm gonna like it. So I think, yes it's worth the hype!

14. Favorite fall TV show?
TV show.. Don't really watch TV that much.. but my friend told me that Revenge is getting more interesting these days and I'm tempted to re-watch the series.

15. What song really gets you into the fall spirit?
I'm a big fan of Christmas so I've been listening to Christmas songs since early of November I guess? It just makes me happy! Here are some excellent christmas mix that I've been listening to, oh and this one is pretty dope, christmas songs with heavy remix.

DIY POP-UP CHRISTMAS CARD

Hi Lavs!

Christmas is almost here! It is the most beautiful time of the year for me and it's such a blessing that I can celebrate it with my loved ones. I like to make something personal like a christmas card and I think it's gonna be a nice idea to be shared! :) 

I personally feel that it's always nice to receive something personalized since you can tell the sincerity of the other person. So, if you still have no idea what to give to your loved ones this christmas, hopefully this tutorial can be your inspiration :)

Here is what you need:

• 2 Carton papers (1 colored and 1 white)
• Ruler
• Color pencil
• Scissors
• Glue
• Picture to be the attached to the POP-UP
• Things to say to your beloved ones <3
• Your picture (optional)

Once you get all the things, you're ready to start!

1) Lay your carton horizontally and fold it into half

(I used a white paper as the white carton for demonstration)

2) Measure where you want your pop-up to be, mark it in strips

(These strips are gonna be your POP-UP. I personally like them in the middle of my card, and not too far apart)

3) Mark 2 cm down from the fold for every marks that you made and make a line

4) Cut along lines that you drew

5) Open the fold of your carton and pull the strips that you just cut towards inside part of the card

 Pull all those strips inwards

6) Now you basically can attach any picture you want on those strips

(For me, I drew a house, christmas tree, and of course SANTA! :D and attached them as my pop-up)

7) Lastly, you need to glue the colored carton to be the outer part of the card to conceal the cuts.

MAYBELLINE LONG EXTREME DOUBLE STRETCH MASCARA // REVIEW

Hi Lavs,

Another review here!Today it's gonna be Maybelline Long Extreme Double Stretch Mascara!

My mom bought this for me, 2 months ago I think (thanks Mommy <3)I don't know where she got this and from what I see, it's pretty rare in our usual drugstore in Indonesia, so maybe you can get it online, like HERE

Okay, getting on to the review! :)

PRICE

Based on the website, it retails for IDR 96000 ($10)

For me, it's not bad, because one tube of mascara can lasts for a pretty long time (but from what I know a tube of mascara lifetime is only 6 months? Please tell me if it's true! :D)

PRODUCT
Onto the product, I think the most amazing thing about this mascara is the fact that it comes with a mascara primer! Yes, you don't need to carry another tube of mascara primer, just this one tube and you're good to go!
In case you're wondering how one stick can carry those two products, this is how the mascara looks like. So one end, is the mascara primer, and you have the mascara on the other end.

Even though you have two different products in one stick and it can be quite confusing (well at least for me when I'm in a hurry), Maybelline does a really good job in this part to encounter your my confusion! Each tube comes with a number, which is really helpful!  (Number 1 is the mascara primer which you suppose to put on first and number 2 is the mascara it self)

The mascara primer is a white liquid that claims to lengthen your eyelashes up to 85%.

I'm not sure if you can see it because it's white, but it does work!Well, not up to 85% though, but it does add more length to my lashes.

On to the mascara itself,

It claims to seal for 24 hours wear, I think this is true because it does hold my curls and doesn't smudge.

In summary, this is my eyelashes in order (before application, after the mascara primer, and after the mascara)

OVERALL

My overall opinion of this mascara is 

+ it does lengthen your eyelashes significantly, 

+ It's fun to have 2 steps mascara, pretty fancy to me! :D

- I don't really like the fact it separates my lashes so much and makes them look really spidery. 

- The wand is pretty straight so it's pretty hard to get to your inner lashes

Do I recommend this?If you have short lashes and you're okay with long, but a bit spidery and not natural-looking lashes, then this product may be great for you.
I don't personally use this mascara everyday, simply because I want a more natural-looking eyelashes, but I tend to grab this when I go out to special events to add extra length to my lashes :)

- I curled my eyelashes before application- I only used one coat for each application (you can surely build the length or volume by applying more coats)
